Getting to Know the Electrostatic Field Meter

In the static control industry, an electrostatic field meter tool is used for non-contact measurement of an object’s electricity charge. It has the capability to measure an object’s electrostatic field in volts.

An electrostatic field meter can measure the initial peak voltage as well as the rate of the electrostatic field when it falls away. This tool is most often used by electricians in their line of work.

This tool is really handy to have at home. A static meter also develops standards for technicians. This way, future problems can be avoided. These can vary depending on the current level of regions ordered from or sent to the user.

Handheld electrostatic field meters are used for locating as well as measuring electrostatic fields. Most models have “Bulls Eye” red ranging lights that assist in getting reproducible measurements.

These devices can be used with a charge plate assembly and a charging source in order to balance as well as test ionization blowers & devices. The analog output of these devices enables the documentation of measurements, particularly if it is used in conjunction with an X-Y plotter and an analog data recording device.
