Las Vegas Permanent Makeup Basics
Las Vegas has a variety of permanent makeup artists or technicians to choose from. These technicians range in price, skill and lenghth of experience, They can be found in nail salons and in upscale medical spas. Some have fancy web sites and some do not market at all. You will find that some permanent makeup artists trained on line and others did long term training of a year or more.
Here in Las Vegas, there are many technicians so you will have no problem contacting several for consultations. A free consultation is recomended by professionals in the business of cosmetic tattoo. I recomend you go on at least 3 consultations.
The consultation is a very important step in choosing your permanent makeup artist. It is here that you get to see your technicians work place. An experienced technician will have an abundance of authentic of before and after pictures. This is his or her portfolio. I have 4 and they keep growing! This consultation will give you a feeling of confidence in your technician and if not, keep looking. You should have all your questions answered, get pre and post care instructions. You should never be pressured into doing your procedure right then. If you feel pressure and the technician seems desperate, you should leave.
If your permanent makeup artist claims 20 years of experience, they should have plenty of photos to prove it. A portfolio is the single most important guage of a permanent makeup artists skill, experience and artistic tallent. If you do not like their portfolio, do not schedule with them. You need to bring up pain management and ask how your technician addresses this issue. Pain is an issue. Many technicians skirt around the issue as not to frighten you away. Yes, it hurts! Quality anesthetic is available by perscription. However, this is only an option in medical spas or clinics with physician supervision. Salons and spas typically don’t have this option and are limited to just 4% lidocaine or less which has little impact. Everyone has a different pain tollerance and responds to anesthetic in different ways. If you do not have good pain tollerance, make sure your technician is working under a physician and has access to perscription anesthetic from a compounding pharmacy.
Lastly, you can check on line reviews. They can be helpful but only if the technician markets on line.
