Power Tools: The Right Tools For Any Job

Have you ever had the pleasure of watching a house being built? Surely you noticed all of the power tools that were being used. It’s amazing, a person can cut right through a metal stud with a chop saw or drill through concrete in a mater of seconds. Power tools have been around for many years as have the companies that make power tools. Companies like Bosch, Black & Decker, DeWalt, Makita, and Milwaukee, and have been making power tools since the early 1900′s and the first circular saw was invented in 1777. Of course the power tools of yesteryear were nothing like the powerful tools that we use today.

The power tools that we use today are faster, quieter, more light weight and easier to use than the power tools that our forefathers used. They were limited to just a few very primitive power tools that were often very loud, difficult to use and were energized using long electrical cords. The electrical power cords often proved to be dangerous when being used on construction jobs and at home do it yourself projects due to nicks in the cords and tangles. Now, thanks to technology corded power tools are quickly becoming a thing of the past ans are being replaced by the new cordless, battery operated power tools.

Cordless power tools are so light weight and easy to use that once you own one, you will want to buy them all. The cordless power tools era began in 1961 when Black & Decker introduced the first cordless electric drill. Today you can buy just about any power tool that you want in a cordless rechargeable battery operated style. Some of the power tools that come cordless and battery operated are: drills, sanders, saws, grinders and many more.

Cordless power tools are growing in popularity that’s for sure, but there are still those jobs that require more power than a battery or a electric cord can deliver. When you have a really big job you turn to the big daddy of power tools and that would be the gas powered power tools. Tools such as gas powered saws, drills, jack hammers, grinders, and gas powered generators that can be used to power any corded power tools that you may be using on your job.

Power tools have made our lives so much easier, people can build a house in as little as a week using power tools, when in years past building a house took months. And power tools are affordable, you can buy just about any power tool corded or cordless for between $50.00 and $200.00. Of course there are some power tools that are more heavy duty and more expensive than that. How you plan to use your power tool has everything to do with the brand of power tool that you buy. If you will be using your tools every day, all day long you need to buy the more heavy duty industrial power tools, but for use around the house a good named brand power tool with a good warranty will work just fine.
