Point-And-Shoot Digital Camera Ratings
Point-and-shooting digital camera ratings is a thing you should consider before buying point-and-shoot digital cameras, with considering the ratings you can efficiently compare cameras as some important buying guidelines. Unfortunately the reviews can be confuse us, if the information are presented by a sponsor of certain manufacturer, which they may be biased in favor of one product or service over another, so how can you trust such reviews?
An effective rating of best digital cameras involves two things, the camera’s specifications plus features, and performance review. You can go to digital camera forum or photography forum and online shop to get some information about the advantages and weakness of the products. Some digital camera forums like dpreview.com give ratings to the camera, and also display some sample photos of a kind digital camera. Online shops such as Amazon.com or Adorama.com let their costumers to give review base on their experience of using certain digital camera.
Point-and-shoot cameras are kind of cameras easy-to-use, simple design, and lightweight size. Digital camera ratings websites give some point-and-shoot cameras good review for consumers which feel satisfied of performance and ability of a specific camera. Beginners are ideal for these quick-shoot cameras, they tend to ignore photography knowledge on cameras, have a bit ability of photo editing and to want auto buttons to take fast–good photos. But some professional photographers bring this camera on their waist for back up, where situation is not possible to use SLR camera, just like a secret weapon for them. 1. Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH20
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH20 is slim, ease of use, fit to your pocket, has resolution of 14.1 megapixels with 8x optical zoom lens (28-224mm eq.). Its lens features a true optical image stabilization system to combat camera shake, has a two-step aperture that ranges from f/3.3 to f/10 at wide-angle, or f/5.9 to f/18 at telephoto. This camera can record in HD movie (1,280 x 720 pixels at 30 fps in Motion JPEG format), with decent LCD screen 2.7″ and 230k dots resolution with Auto Power LCD mode. Let iAuto mode select a correct setting for you. There is no mini HDMI video output, no fully manual modes, image soft at full telephoto, and no zooming in video shooting.
2. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V
Sony Cybershot DSC-HX5V is launched in January 2010, with EXMOR-R, a backlit CMOS type, and 10MP resolution designed to be more sensitive in poor light. And it captures 1080p HD video recording, in the AVCHD format. This camera was equipped a 3.0″ TFT Clear Photo LCD panel with 100% coverage, and 230k dots resolution. The Sony HX5V has a 9-point autofocus system includes Sony’s Super SteadyShot optical stabilization system, Smile Shutter, Blink Detection modes and so on. But LCD is lower resolution than others and noise reduction is too aggressive and smudges some details, a few manual functions.
3. Nikon CoolPix S8100
Nikon CoolPix S8100 is released in September 2010, has body not slim enough to put in your pocket, with 10x optical zoom Nikkor lens and focal lengths range 5.4-54.0mm (30-300mm equivalent) and resolution 12.10 megapixels BSI CMOS sensor makes a great pictures. Capture full HD video shooting at 30fps with stereo sound with HDMI video output. Proper 3” LCD screen 920k dots resolution. And sharp images in macro mode. But few manual modes, battery life is under average, little noise sound in video shooting.
4. Canon PowerShoot S95
This camera released in August 2010, features 3.8x optical zoom lens (28mm-105mm eq.) and 10MP. S95 equipped the Canon HS System by combining a powerful 10.0-megapixel CCD sensor and Canon’s DIGIC 4 Image Processor make dramatically more sensitive and delivers spectacular images with minimal noise. Manual controls for focus, exposure, zoom or white balance. Beautiful movie shooting in 720p HD and a mini HDMI video output, can save in RAW mode, good pictures in low light and shallow deep of field with max aperture f/2.0. But the camera has a red eye problem, battery life is below average, and no noise reductions options.
Pont-and-shoot digital camera ratings can be some references for manufacturer to improve quality of their product and the consumer will get some information what they want to know about digital camera.
