Micro Coaxial Remote Control Helicopters are for everyone to Fly

The micro coaxial remote control helicopters are among the most fun and amazing products to hit the RC flight market in years. This type of RC helicopter has introduced so many people to the hobby of RC flying. The growth in the segment of bird flying is strongly attributed to micro coaxial RC helis. To begin with, they cost low and give the most fun. They are fit to be flown by just about any age group. When a person for the first time starts to fly this type of RC heli, he/she cannot put it down. The more experienced flyers of micro coaxial RC bird become so hooked in some of its model including the Blade CX3.

The micro coaxial is the perfect choice for anyone who is intimidated by the complex nature and cost of single rotor grade RC helis. The micro coaxial RC bird is easy to fly and most of the skills learned along the way are transferable to single rotor hobby grade birds. One of the skills one can learn in a micro coaxial RC flight is the control reversal when practicing nose in hovers.

What makes the micro coaxial RC helicopters so special?

The simple factor that puts this RC helis above its counterparts is its stability. Compared to other conventional single rotor helicopter which has only a tail rotor and one main rotor for counteracting the torque produced, the coaxial helicopters have two major rotors stacked on top of one another. The rotors work by spinning in opposite direction of each other to cancel out the resultant reactive torque produced by each. The two rotors also produce significance gyroscopic effects that further stabilize the helicopter. This is the reason why the micro coaxial RC helis is the most stable of the lot of RC helicopters available.

The working of the models of micro coaxial remote control helicopters is the same. All have two different electric motors that drive each motor. Each of the motor then drives the main upper and lower gear. The two main gears will turn the two main rotor shafts. The outside shaft powering the lower rotor is hollow while the inner shaft powering the upper rotor spins inside the lower hollow shaft in opposite direction. It works that simple. The two motors control both the yaw movement and lift of the helicopter. The lift control comes about from the speeding up and slowing down. The yaw movement is produced by the rotor whereby as one slows down the other speeds up to produce a more reactive torque than the slow rotor. The resultant effect is a turn or yaw. The movement of yaw is controlled by special electronic mixes on board that seamlessly mixes the speed of both the motors for the required turn rate to be effected and also maintaining the overall lift to be the same.

The cyclic movement of the micro coaxial remote control helicopters gives them the same agility as that of more complex single rotor birds. The lower rotor has a typical swashplate that produces cyclic control functions.
