Get Air Mass Right for Optimal Performance
As with any automobile, all Jaguar engine parts are indispensable with their unique functions contributing to the overall performance of the vehicle. All of them work hand in hand, integrating their functions effectively to achieve optimal ride performance. For Jaguar vehicles making use of a fuel injection system, the installation of a Jaguar air mass meter is a prerequisite. This auto component sits adjacent to the air filter which it assists with the flow of air.
It helps regulate the airflow into the air intake system and combustion chamber. To do that, measuring the mass of air is also part of its job. The Jaguar air mass meter uses the hot meter anemometer principle. This principle works by transmitting an electric signal to the car computer as response to the flow of fluid in the engine. The two types of this component are the vane meter and the hot wire. The vane meter type is equipped with a spring loaded arm that measures the volume of air in the engine’s intake air stream. On the other hand, the hot wire uses a heated electrical wire suspended in the air stream to measure the volume of air.
By checking for the air mass level, the Jaguar air mass meter helps the car computer correct whatever fault there is in the volume of air. Doing so eliminates the chance of poor fuel economy that may be brought by too much air or less of it being burned. As its function is of such high importance, it should be maintained regularly. However, as its function requires it to have contact with air, it also encounters impurities. When it is left that way, it naturally gets contaminated.
Replacement is the only solution when this occurs but factors must first be considered before getting a new air mass meter. Car owners should carefully consider the compatibility of the replacement Jaguar air mass meter with operating pressure, mass flow rate range, accuracy, and fluid temperature range. If all factors have been taken into account, getting the fitting air mass filter for the Jaguar vehicle will be easy.
