Nokia N97 Silver Vs Nokia N900 – Two Magnificent Gems In The Nokia Family!!

Mobile phones have become quite essential for people, and these are very effective communication devices. And the dependency of the population on these gadgets have invited many handset manufacturers in the mobile market. The most popular brand among these is Nokia that has always produced amazing and unique phones that are capable to serve better. Two gems from this family are Nokia N97 Silver and Nokia N900. Both these phones were released last year, and they have captured the hearts of people. Although, they look similar to each other, but their many differences.

The internal memory of N97 offers 32 GB storage capacity with 128 MB RAM, and this could further be increased upto 16 GB with the help of microSD card option. On the other hand, the N900 also provides 32 GB internal memory but with 256 MB RAM. And this could also be increased upto 16 GB with the support of microSD card option. Both the handsets are capable to store unlimited phonebook entries and call records for maximum 30 days.

Nokia N97 Silver weighs only 150 grams and has dimensions of 117.2 * 55.3 * 15.9 mm. Whereas, the Nokia N900 weighs 181 grams and the measurements of this device are 110.9 * 59.8 * 18 mm. That means this one is slightly heavier than the other model. Both the handsets have 3.5 inches TFT resistive touchscreens that can support 16 million colors display. And the advanced features offered by these devices are – Proximity sensor for auto turn-off, Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate and Full QWERTY keyboard.

For Internet connectivity, almost all the options are available with both the handsets. Such as GPRS, EDGE, 3G, WLAN, Bluetooth, Infrared port and USB. The Infrared option is missing in the N97 model. Both the mobile phones have 5 mega pixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, Geo-tagging and video lights. The N97 has LED flash and the N900 has Dual LED flash. Both are capable of making video clips, the N97 has the speed of 30 fps and the other one can do it at the rate of 25 fps. And both has the option of making video calls.

The music options offered by Nokia N97 Silver and Nokia N900 are – Stereo FM radio, FM Transmitter, MP3 player and MP4 player. Other interesting features of this device are – Java games that are downloadable from several sites, GPS with A-GPS support, TV-Out, Document Viewer and photo editor.

The standard Li-Ion battery of N97 offers standby time upto 432 hours in 2G & 408 hours in 3G,  talktime upto 9 hours 30 minutes in 2G & 6 hours in 3G, and music play upto 40 hours. On the other hand, the battery of N900 provides standby time upto 278 hours in 2G & 250 hours in 3G, talktime upto 6 hours 30 minutes in 2G & 4 hours 30 minutes in 3G, and music play upto 24 hours 30 minutes.

Nokia N97 Silver and Nokia N900, both are excellent devices and both offer great features. In terms of looks and performance, both the handsets are quite capable to satisfy the needs of mobile users.
