Fuse Style Questions

Just bought a used Maytag Performa Dryer, for $125.00. I plugged it up and it did nothing, NOTHING. What now?

I plugged it up turned the setting knob and pushed to start. The previous owner said it worked just fine for him. I’m believing him for now. Maybe it’s my outlet. But how do I check my 220v outlet without frying myself. My breaker box is the screw in round fuse style.

Make sure you are checking the right breaker box. If you are in the US, then the screw in round fuse is for 110v service. Check outside the house near your power meter for another breaker box. At my house, all of my 220v service comes from this box (Stove/Dryer/ AC).
