Dolby Digital Sound on Dish TV Receivers

Toslink is a technology developed by leading Japanese electronics giant, Toshiba for the purpose of connecting CD players with a receiver to stream PCM audio signals. It is basically an optical cable that uses 1mm optical fiber made from plastic. In certain cases, high quality plastic or quartz glass optical fibers are used for the transmission of high bandwidth audio signals.
