There are three types of Pliers most commonly used in Electrical Industry:
- Side Cutting Pliers: (also called Lineman's Pliers) Used for gripping, twisting and cutting wire.
- Diagonal Pliers: Used for cutting light-gauge wire. The pointed cutting nose can reach places inaccessible to larger wire-cutting tools.
- Long-nose Pliers: Used for maneuvering wire and small terminals into place. They can also be used to cut light-gauge wire.
